How to use my NDIS plan?
Congratulations on receiving your NDIS plan! Here are 10 tips to help you get started:
Read the document once over.
If you have Support Coordination funding, sign up a Support Coordinator to explain the plan thoroughly.
If you need further help, find a NDIS Local Area Coordinator near you and contact them for free assistance.
Once you know your budget, think about the services you want to engage with to achieve your NDIS goals. Support Coordinators can help you find the right supports and services.
Shortlist service NDIS registered providers, review their websites, and contact them to check costs and availabilities.
Ensure the service providers are a good fit for you and can work within your budget. Support Coordinators can help you create a Schedule of Supports and check its budget.
Sign a Service Agreement with your chosen service provider to clarify the services and budget.
Book your first appointment or service.
If you have a Plan Manager, they can assist you in paying service providers with Service Agreements. Many have budget apps that allow you to view your budget, invoices, and balance-to-go. Your Support Coordinator or LAC can explain the other options of self-managed or Agency Managed.
Add the NDIS app via your My Gov and have your NDIS plan electronically wherever you go with your smartphone, or when you are at a computer.
